| quick and dirty saves the day. | Rating: | This book, although dated, is a must have for an apache admin.
A first time apache admin? Not so much. But if you have a general grasp, and you've read the apache documentation, this serves as a good reference. If you want to jump in and look at something really quick, it works great.
The information is fairly accurate, but the writing leaves much to be desired. If you are new to apache, you'll likely get confused if you follow this. But if you start getting some experience and want to tweak it and play around, or if something is broke, keep the book handy. | | Total Votes: 0, Helpful Votes: 0, Date: 2006-07-22 | | | | Technically savvy, but poorly written | Rating: | | I don't doubt that Kabir knows what he's talking about in this book, but he's far from a great writer. While installing mod_perl, I found myself rereading the same paragraphs trying to figure out what he meant. | | Total Votes: 3, Helpful Votes: 3, Date: 2000-11-02 | | | | Highly recommended for those wanting immediate results | Rating: | | I was told by an ISP administrator I would have to pay him 125.00 per hour to get my co-located server up and running on the Internet. After calling ahead and having the clerk look up some titles, I glanced through this book and had the answers I was looking for before I left the bookstore! | | Total Votes: 6, Helpful Votes: 6, Date: 1999-10-04 | | | | Just what I needed | Rating: | | I don't read most IDG books because they are novice oriented. This one is different! Its for the pros who need real info in real time. | | Total Votes: 0, Helpful Votes: 0, Date: 1999-09-02 | | | | Copy-Paste! | Rating: | | My mistake, I knew that this author writes pretty paethetic stuff on Apache, I still bought this one. Most of things are copy-pasted from the "Bible..." written by the author. In short, Author has no idea what he is writing. | | Total Votes: 15, Helpful Votes: 6, Date: 1999-08-23 | | | | quick and dirty saves the day. | Rating: | This book, although dated, is a must have for an apache admin.
