| This Book with CD does not work on MS Windows XP | Rating: |
It is very disappointing that this is not "noticed" in the Amazon.com advertisement for this Book and included CD. A waste of time and effort. I need this for a college class but apparently it was developed to work on an older version of MS Windows... and not XP.
I called Peachpit Press (publisher) and they have not returned my call. |

| Youll Be a Web Designing in No Time | Rating: |
| This is the book you're going to want to have if you're still running System 9 on a Mac. Hey, don't act so surprised, there are still a lot of people out there who are. System X is great, the Panther is superb, but good old System 9 is still the workhorse it always was and it's quick as the devil, especially on my older G3 machines. Others have said it, and I'll second the motion, this "Hands-On Training" book should have been the one to come with the official program. Garo Green and Lynda Weinman from lynda.com assume you have only limited knowledge of how your Mac works. No knowledge of HTML is required. If you can work your mouse, you're ready to go. You'll be designing your first website in no time at all. This one gets two thumbs up. |

| Excellent Dreamweaver tutorial for beginners | Rating: |
| This is an excellent tutorial for those who are new to Dreamweaver. It takes you virtually step by step on how to fully use the application, both for Mac and PC users. The book also includes brief tips of information throughout each lesson. It is visually very easy to follow, with both imagery and numbered steps. Even though it is a little outdated, it is still an excellent starter book. I feel I got my money's worth. |

| This book should come with Dreamweaver | Rating: |
| I already knew HTML before I bought Dreamweaver. However, I still didn't have a clue how to use Dreamweaver. I have never used an HTML generator before. The manual that came with Dreamweaver is very comprehensive, but the tutorial was boring and I still wasn't learning Dreamweaver. After I got this book, I was a bit intimidated by the number of pages. Once I started the lessons I quickly started understanding Dreamweaver. One reviewer commented that there are "missing steps". I didn't have any trouble following along and noticed nothing missing. That reviewer also found it difficult to remove the lessons from their hard drive. I'm not exactly sure what is so hard about right-clicking and delete. Yes, the program warns you just as Windows warns you before you delete a file. I find that this book compliments the manufacturer's manual. There are a few obscure things that I wanted to do that weren't covered in the book, however the manual's index pointed me in the right direction and made sense since I now knew how to work Dreamweaver. I'm sure knowing HTML first helps, but is not necessary. It is amazing that you can build an entire page without writing a single line of code. As a matter of fact, if you want to learn HTML, you could do so after learning Dreamweaver. It allows you to view the code that you just created. I think that the book assumes you already know how to build a web page. If you don't, you might think there are "missing steps" because the book does not explain how to create and manipulate images. However, that's not the function of this book. It teaches you Dreamweaver and it does a very good job of it. Dreamweaver will not make you a webmaster any more than a hammer and saw will make you a carpenter. It's a tool you need to learn how to use to do a job you already know. |

| Fantastic Book! | Rating: |
| This book was great and very helpful! This was the fourth book that I tried to learn Dreamweaver and it was extremely helpful. It was very helpful to train with each chapter. It helped to remember also. If you learn by doing, then get this book. You won't regret it! |
