This book constitutes the joint refereed proceedings of seven international workshops held as part of OTM 2004 in Agia Napa, Cyprus in October 2004.
The 73 revised papers presented together with 31 abstracts of posters from the OTM main conferences were carefully reviewed and selected from more than 150 submissions. In accordance with the 7 workshops, the papers are organized in topical sections on grid computing and its applications to data analysis; Java technologies for real-time and embedded systems; modeling inter-organizational systems; regulatory ontologies; ontologies, semantics and e-learning; PhD symposium; and interoperability.
This two-volume set LNCS 3760/3761 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the three confederated conferences CoopIS 2005, DOA 2005, and ODBASE 2005 held as OTM 2005 in Agia Napa, Cyprus in October/November 2005.
The 89 revised full and 7 short papers presented together with 3 keynote speeches were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 360 submissions. Corresponding with the three OTM 2005 main conferences CoopIS, DOA, and ODBASE, the papers are organized in topical sections on workflow, workflow and business processes, mining and filtering, petri nets and processs management, information access and integrity, heterogeneity, semantics, querying and content delivery, Web services, agents, security, integrity and consistency, chain and collaboration mangement, Web services and service-oriented architectures, multicast and fault tolerance, communication services, techniques for application hosting, mobility, security and data persistence, component middleware, java environments, peer-to-peer computing architectures, aspect oriented middleware, information integration and modeling, query processing, ontology construction, metadata, information retrieval and classification, system verification and evaluation, and active rules and Web services.
This book constitutes the joint refereed proceedings of nine international workshops held as part of OTM 2005 in Agia Napa, Cyprus in October/November 2005.
The 145 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 268 submissions. Topics addressed are agents, Web services and ontologies merging (AWeSOMe 2005), context-aware mobile systems (CAMS 2005), grid computing and its application to data analysis (GADA 2005), inter-organizational systems and interoperability of enterprise software and applications (MIOS+INTEROP 2005), object-role modeling (ORM 2005), a PHD symposium (PhDS 2005), semantic-based geographical information systems (SeBGIS 2005), Web semantics (SWWS 2005), and ontologies, semantics and e-learning (WOSE 2005).
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th IEEE International Workshop on IP Operations and Management, IPOM 2005, held in Barcelona, Spain, in October 2005.
The 21 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in the book. They are organized in topical sections on operations and management for VoIP, IMS and managed IP services, management of open interfaces, QoS and pricing in NGNs, autonomic communications, policy-based management, routing and topologies, routing and tools, as well as experiences from testbeds and trials.
XML and Web Services traffic is consuming an increasing percentage of the bandwidth on the corporate network. At the same time, enterprise IT architects and data center administrators are struggling with how to deploy XML and Web Services-based solutions in the enterprise in a reliable, secure, and manageable manner. Furthermore, existing computing infrastructures are increasingly inadequate to meet the demands of high-performance XML and Web Services capabilities.
To solve many of these challenges, vendors are introducing a new category of intelligent network device that are able to intercept, inspect, transform, and redirect XML and Web Services requests according to business policies.
As enterprises move from simple, point-to-point applications of Web Services to building Service-Oriented Architectures (SOAs) that leverage the capabilities of XML and Web Services, end-users must understand how to optimize not only their current XML-based integration solutions, but also the performance of their SOA implementations as they build out these more agile approaches to distributed computing.
Targeted at those who are in charge of deciding how to implement corporate-wide policies for XML and Web Services usage at both the network and application level, this white paper will discuss key issues for effective implementation of XML and Web Services and how they impact different parts of the corporate IT infrastructure, both now and into the future.
