A long time ago an expert told me Rick don't worry about what your program FINDS worry about what it doesn't. I have spy ware with Trojans on my computer and I am aware of them. I installed them. However, I recently downloaded a new trojan infected file I needed part of and Nod32 didn't see it. In fact after updating and pointing it at the file it said it was fine. Using an online scanner [...] that utilities virtually every scanner turned up a trojan. This made me wonder if switching from TrendMicro was a good idea. I installed Trend on my Vista hard drive which is on an a separate drive and rescanned my XP system and found several infected files that I did not know about and did not want. I guess Nod32 is ok but don't be fooled by it NOT finding things. Download Threatfire free and let it back up your Nod32. If you think a file might be infected then use Jotti and find out. The you can go about repairing your system.

| Very poor service, couldn't find Trojans | Rating: |
| No product is perfect but the little company that could has created a monster - itself. I was a customer for years until I was hit with 2 Trojans that somehow eluded NOD32. I sent 2 emails to the company about it and got no response. So when my software expired after being with them for 4 years, I decided to take a one month trial on two different competitor's free month trials. When I came back 70 days later to see if I could renew my license, I tried online but was told I had to call customer service. I couldn't understand why because my customer account info was sent to me using their system. After waiting on hold for almost a half hour, ESET told me "sure you can upgrade" - but quoted me at a price that was higher than the renewal. And when I asked them why it was even higher than the price on their web site, the rep said "Oh... our policy is that once you are 60 days from a license expiry, it's as if you're a new customer. So shall we upgrade?" What a pathetic up selling. Having me on hold for 30 minutes and then telling me that the world's shortest expiration period meant I need to pay new customer prices? Perhaps this was a sign I'd have an infected computer using NOD32 again and the incredibly bad customer service and policies clinched it. There are plenty of good, if not better alternatives if you look. |

| I've been using NOD32 for several years. It is reliable and uses very little system resources. I am impressed with the frequent automatic virus list updates. I highly recommend NOD32 as your only virus protection program. |

| Excellent Anti-Virus protection! | Rating: |
I've been using computers for a GOOD 18 years. I like my computer protected with the BEST. When I bought my Dell it had "Trend Micro" on it and I HATED it. I've now switched to NOD32 and its absolutely excellent. I was a little leary of buying it since all the reviews made it sound like you had to be a ADVANCED computer user. (I wasn't sure how advanced they meant?) But I installed this on my computer & its great. The installation was easy and I had no problems at all with it. :) It does NOT slow your computer down like ALL the other Anti-Virus programs do. Norton was good, but it really bogged down my computer..NOD32 doesn't!
If you aren't real knowledgable about computers you can STILL install this program and its ready to run as is. But if you are a little bit computer savy it is EASY to set-up NOD32. I did NOT find it difficult like the reviews kept saying. One thing I really LOVED about it was I've had a problem for a year now with google earth. I downloaded it and I could NEVER get it to shut down completely. (It kind of took over my computer.) The minute I ran NOD32 with its "In Depth Analysis" it found the problem with google earth and CORRECTED it. That alone made my day and showed me how good this program is. That's just for starters. This has to be the BEST AV out there. Nothing gets by NOD32.
I'd really like to know why they keep saying its NOT for the average user? This program is no more difficult then any other AV? These people must be talking about total NEWBIES? Its not that difficult and if you DO know about about computers and programs there is SO MUCH you can do with NOD32 that you can't with other AV.
I have a top of the line Dell laptop and was worried about NOD32 slowing it down. But it is JUST as fast as before, maybe faster without Trend Micro on here. You can't even tell I installed the program. My husband installed it on HIS laptop to and is just as happy if not more then me. He is really good with computers and he doesn't think anything out there can top NOD32 at present. NOD32 scans my computer so FAST! I also love how easy it is to run an IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS that checks everything in your computer. If there is anything there it WILL find it.
I HIGHLY recommend NOD32. I've tried Norton AV, Trend Micro, McAfee and you name it and NOD32 blows them away. Absolutely NO comparison. I'm so glad I bought this. Everything about NOD32 is flawless. I don't undertand the people that are saying their computer came to a complete halt once it was installed? Did you people FOLLOW the instrutions? You Have to UN-INSTALL your current AV on your computer FIRST. Find all the files if some were missed in the un-install and then install NOD32...its quick, simple, easy and ready to go the minute you have it loaded. I say this is a GREAT buy...I wouldn't have anything else on my computer but NOD32. I have NOD32 and Zone Alarm as my fire wall and this computer is still smoking fast. Love NOD32...if you want the best...this is it.

NOD32 has won several awards on their great software. It deinetly barely uses any system resourse. MY vista computer used less then 50% of Ram before and is still under that range after installation. My dual core 1.8ghz pc is still only at less than 10%. And that with the scan running. This is a must buy if you know a little bit to a lot of computers. Not for the average user, unless you have a friend that can teach you.I suggest purchasing from TragicLittlePC. They have a great price and if you just order regular shipping, there will be a free upgrade to Expedite it. http://www.eset.com/products/compare-NOD32-vs-competition.php |
