SAVVIS Network Information

SAVVIS operates the largest next-generation Intelligent IP Network in the world. Located in major cities throughout the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the Pacific Rim, our top rated network is comprised of Lucent ATM core switches and Integrated Access Devices at the customer premises, as well as Nortel Networks Shasta 5000 Broadband Service Nodes that give the network its "intelligence." An IAD is any number of SAVVIS defined devices that creates a "bridged" connection from the customer's LAN to our Network.

SAVVIS is also deploying its own dark fiber -— using industry-leading Nortel Networks optical equipment -— during the Year 2000 through 2001. In addition, over the next two years, SAVVIS will expand its network reach directly to 500 of the largest commercial buildings across the country, offering SAVVIS broadband access for instant connectivity to our network.
